Centre Point Sabah is a must-visit for shopping and dining, while Kota Kinabalu City Waterfront offers a vibrant mix of food, drinks, and local markets. One Borneo Hypermall, remains a notable spot, and Warisan Square provides a range of retail choices. These malls typically operate from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., making them accessible for both daytime and evening shopping sprees​.

In addition to malls, the city is famous for its markets. The Gaya Street Fair, held every Sunday morning, is a bustling event where you can find a variety of goods, from local handicrafts to fresh produce. Surrounding towns and villages also host weekly markets known as Tamu, where you can explore a diverse array of items, including orchids, fruits, vegetables, poultry, and traditional crafts, offering an authentic shopping experience
